Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance do I need to place my order?

At least 3-4 weeks for celebration cakes and at least 6 months for weddings. Although some weeks are slower than others so it won't hurt to ask!

I’ve called for an inquiry before and no one answered the phone. What’s the best way to inquire for a cake and how do I order?

The phone rings when we’re either shopping for ingredients, washing dishes, or decorating a cake. We are a very small operation, and often work irregular hours on top of balancing life with 2 toddlers so we have decided it would be best not to take orders through phone. Please send an email to dessertsbyaudrey@gmail.com or fill out the inquiry form on our website. Please specify the date, serving size, design, and we can schedule a virtual call to discuss more details and we can go from there!

What is the cost for cakes?

Each cake is custom. The starting price for a custom 6" cake is $150. Wedding cakes are priced by serving. The starting price for wedding cakes is $10/serving.

Do you deliver? Where are you located?

Delivery is available for a fee based on mileage. We don’t recommend picking up tiered cakes or wedding cakes on your own. Pick up for non-tiered cakes is an option at our cottage bakery in Fort Washington, MD about 15 minutes from Old Town Alexandria.

Do you ship orders?

We currently only ship cookies/bars.

How do you accept payment?

All payments can be made through Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, CashApp, Credit Card or Check. Once your order is confirmed, we request a 50% deposit and the rest will be paid the day of your event.

What is the cancellation policy on cake orders?

7 days notice is required to be able to offer a full refund on celebration cakes. It may be possible to reschedule the order with 48 hours notice, depending on the perishable ingredients we have ordered for you. 30 days notice is required to be able to offer a full refund on wedding cakes.

Can you accomodate allergies?

I do have a few recipes that are allergy friendly but my tools and equipment have been in contact with wheat/soy/nuts.
